There isn’t a big difference between diary writing in Japanese and in English.
Just try to write: Short sentences
Make the subject clear

*First example:

It looks easy, doesn’t it?
 

*Second example:

OK, it is your turn.
First, you can write what you did today.
What time you got up.
What time you went to school, park, your friend’s house…..
How you went to school, park, your friend’s house…..
What you did at school, park, your friend’s house…..

You are surprised.
